How do I see a dermatologist?

You must obtain a consultation from a family doctor or a nurse practitioner, who will refer you to the CRDS.

How do I know how long it will take to get my appointment?

Requests are prioritized based on the information provided by the referring physician. Once your request is submitted to the CRDS, the clinic has no way of knowing where you are on the waiting list. You can call the CRDS at 819-564-5210 for more information about your place on the waiting list.

Is the clinique de dermatologie de Granby a private clinic?

No, we are not a private clinic. The care we provide is covered by Quebec health insurance.

Can I pay for a consultation with a dermatologist if I don't have a referral?

No, not at the clinic de dermatologie de Granby. As it is a RAMQ-affiliated clinic, all new consultations must come from a family doctor or a nurse practitioner and be processed by the CRDS.

Do you offer aesthetic skin care?

No, the clinic only offers medical dermatology services.

Could there be any charges during my visit?

Although the clinic is affiliated with the RAMQ, you may be charged for certain services if they are not medically required. You will be notified in advance and may decline them. These services have no impact on your health.

I've had a skin biopsy or surgery, and I'm concerned about the appearance of my wound. What should I do?

Here are the recommendations for wound care.

I had a biopsy, but I don't have the results yet. Should I be concerned?

Before you can receive the results, the samples taken must be analyzed by a pathologist, and then the results must be returned to the clinic. You can then expect a delay of several weeks. In some more complex conditions, the sample must be sent to a tertiary center for further analysis, which can take up to several months. However, if you haven't heard anything after two months, you can contact the clinic.
